It’s a known fact that Jawas in the past have suffered due to inferior build quality. Having said that, we can't really move on without addressing the elephant in the room, and that's the overall build quality. The side panels have been designed to sit flush with the sloped lines that flow from the fuel tank to the rear axle.Īdd a pair of chopped fenders, slash-cut exhaust, spoked wheels, a sinister colour scheme, and you have the perfect recipe for a bobber. This gives the bike its quintessential hardtail look. The double cradle frame is the same as the other Jawas, but the swingarm and the seat have been redesigned to suit the bike’s demeanor - similar to the Triumph Bonneville Bobber’s ‘swing cage’ swingarm. So, it isn't just a nip-and-tuck job of the standard Jawa, injected with a bobber attitude. And Classic Legends have gone to great lengths to ensure it has its own unique identity. The Perak looks drop dead gorgeous, there’s no doubt about it. In a similar price bracket, you could also go for the Bajaj Dominar 400, Royal Enfield Hunter 350, and the KTM RC 200. The Jawa Perak rivals the likes of the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Interceptor 650, and the Benelli Imperiale 400. It rolls on 18 inch front and 17 inch rear spoked wheels, which are wrapped in 100-section and 140-section tubed tyres respectively. For braking, Jawa Perak uses 280mm disc up front and a 240mm disc at the rear, with standard dual-channel ABS. The bike is built on a double-cradle frame, which is suspended by a conventional telescopic fork up front and a swingarm-mounted monoshock unit at the rear. Apart from OBD2-compliance, the engine also gets a larger throttle body and exhaust ports for improved performance. It even gets custom-looking twin slash-cut exhausts, which are road-legal. The engine works in conjunction with a six-speed transmission. Powering the Jawa Perak is a single-cylinder, 334cc, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled, OBD-2 compliant engine that produces 30.64PS and 32.74Nm. The motorcycle comes with a semi-digital instrument cluster with basic information. The headlight is halogen, whereas the indicators are bulbs. It comes with low-set handlebars, which also have bar-end mirrors for a distinct look. The Perak features an all-black paint scheme, with its tan single seat neatly housing the LED tail-lamp unit right under it.
